Shrees Foods began in a small Tamil kitchen with a simple question: why has the food our paatis (grandmothers) made for generations disappeared from city dinner tables?
The answer was the same everywhere — busy lives, mass-produced shortcuts, and a slow forgetting. Our mission is to put authentic, hand-prepared Tamil heritage foods back on the everyday plate, made the way they were always made: slow-roasted, hand-stirred, oil-pressed, and free of preservatives.
What we make
We focus on three families of traditional foods that Tamil households have leaned on for centuries — podis (hand-roasted spice and lentil powders), thokkus (slow-cooked pickles in cold-pressed gingelly oil), and milagu kulambus (garlic and pepper gravies). Each one is rooted in Siddha and Tamil home wisdom: ellu (black sesame) for calcium, kollu (horse gram) for stamina, pirandai for joint health, malai poondu for immunity.
Our promise
- No preservatives. Ever. We use traditional techniques — slow roasting, oil pickling, salt curing — to preserve naturally.
- No artificial colour, no MSG. If you can't pronounce it, it's not in our jars.
- Small-batch, hand-prepared. Every batch is cooked in small quantities so we can taste, smell, and check.
- Cold-pressed gingelly oil only in our thokkus and kulambus — the way Tamil grandmothers always did it.
- Transparent ingredients. Every label tells you exactly what's inside.
